oo-patterns

A free library of page sections for portfolio and personal sites: plain HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript, with no framework. Open source, in early development.

oo-patterns is a set of ready-made page sections for people who show their work online: designers, developers, illustrators, photographers, filmmakers and other media makers. Copy the HTML, link the CSS and, where a pattern needs it, add a small script. Nothing has to be installed or built on the site that uses it.

What's in it

  • Headers and navigation, heroes, an about section, and service and feature grids.
  • Portfolio cards and tiles, a filterable grid and a lightbox gallery.
  • A full case-study page, a blog list and post, a print-friendly CV, and a contact section and footer.

Light and dark themes are built in. Movement is reduced for visitors who ask for less, and the colours are tested to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast.

It is meant for anyone building a portfolio without a framework, and for developers theming a CMS such as Drupal who want patterns they can test outside it.

Status

Early development, version 0.1. Names may still change before 1.0. MIT licence. See it on GitHub.
