Project

0-0

A player for video with timed extras around it: a clickable transcript, images, source cards and chapters that appear as it plays. Open source, in early development.

As a video plays, 0-0 shows things beside, below or over it at the right moments: a transcript with the current line highlighted (click a line to jump there), images, cards for the sources being mentioned, and chapter markers. The name reads like a pair of glasses: one lens on the video, one on everything around it.

It is for publishers and journalists who want viewers to see the sources behind a video, educators who want lectures with a searchable transcript and chapters, and documentary, podcast and video makers who want notes and images in time with the story. The first site built on it is Watch Replay.

Status

Early development, version 0.1. The timing format, the engine and four kinds of element work and are tested; it is not on npm yet. TypeScript; MIT licence. See the demo.
