Testing This Drummer's Music Knowledge | Track Star*

Josh Harmon is a viral musician, content creator and foley artist who uses rhythm to entertain, to surprise, and to tell stories. He created the viral video series “Rhythms of Comedy” where he uses drumming to bring out the rhythmic delivery of stand up comedians. In December 2020, he performed his “Rhythms of Comedy” routine live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which only boosted his virality further. His videos have been described by The TODAY Show as a "worldwide phenomenon" and Modern Drummer Magazine named him "the most viewed drummer on the internet." He more recently has become known for the videos in which he uses percussion instruments and everyday objects to create sound effects for movies, tv shows, and video games, often in funny and unexpected ways. He talks us through his “Michael Jordan story” - the high school music program from which he was cut that motivated him to become the best percussionist he could be and inspired his interest in jazz. In this episode of the music game show, we follow the roots of groove-driven music, starting in New Orleans and branching out through blues, jazz, funk, and rock.
